This Be the Worst

They tuck you up, your mum and dad,
They read you Peter Rabbit, too.
They give you all the treats they had
And add some extra, just for you.

They were tucked up when they were small,
(Pink perfume, blue tobacco-smoke),
By those whose kiss healed any fall,
Whose laughter doubled any joke.

Man hands on happiness to man,
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
So love your parents all you can
And have some cheerful kids yourself.

lovely :)

There are no more battles between good and evil, no more monsters to slay, no maidens in need of rescue. Most maidens are perfectly capable of rescuing themselves in my experience, at least the ones worth something in any case”

“…there are never really endings, happy or otherwise…they overlap and blur”

“You many tell a tale that takes up residence in someones blood…who knows what they might do because of your words.

Just a few quotes from a book I have literally finished this morning. I loved it.
